Mr. Warren Chiu lives and works in Hong Kong. He first took Chinese painting lessons from his uncle, a renowned master of the Lingnan School, but moved on to sketches, caricature drawing, illustrations, and recently, oil painting.
Warren is intrigued by the styles and techniques of the Post-Impressionism artists. Like many of these artists, his attention is on ordinary people in their day-to-day activities. This exhibition features six ordinary individuals who have long been living and working alongside with us in this attention deficit city. But slowly and surely, these familiar faces are fading from the public eye. Their absence, even went unnoticed, would leave a regrettable void in us. Warren’s paintings intend to delay these individuals from shrouding in obscurity. He used bright colors and broad strokes to depict protagonists’ moods and emotions in their original scenes. These paintings enable viewers to reconnect themselves with these characters.
