Have you ever thought of what keyboard instrument do we have before piano is invented? While nowadays it is more common for us to listen to Bach’s Goldberg Variations on piano, the work was originally composed for two-manual harpsichord. This time we bring a harpsichord to Wyndham Social. Harpsichordist Xinge Bu will introduce you this beautiful instrument and what so special about it. You can experience the unique tone and texture of this beautiful instrument.
Xinge Bu began her musical education at the Central Conservatory of Music Beijing. She later graduated from Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Cologne under Chen Pi-hsien, Helmut Weinrebe, Gerald Hambitzer and Ketil Haugsand, majoring in piano and harpsichord.
This event will be conducted in English.

About Aura Music
Aura Music is a young education charity founded in 2019 to foster a lifelong love of learning through the joy of music—for both the young in age and the young at heart.
Our activities take music education beyond extracurricular instrument practice and place it at the centre of learning. To inspire curiosity in music’s relationship to the wider world, we organise interactive workshops for children, mentorship programmes for young adults, and pre- and post-concert activities for audiences of all ages. And to bring the wider world back to music, we curate concerts that introduce young Asian musicians to new audiences, collaborators, and ideas.
Whatever the format, our learning activities are fueled by one belief: that behind every sound is a story, and behind every story is a connection. To fields like philosophy, physics, linguistics, and architecture. To other people, places, and cultures. And ultimately, to ourselves.
